Become Confident

David is a 6-year-old member that would come with his mom daily to drop-off and pick-up his brother Angel from our clubhouse. David was not interested in being enrolled in the program, as he was known to be very shy and had a hard time trying to talk to others and make friends. After a month of daily pickups for his brother, he began to show interest in being part of the program his brother was always talking about! 

When David was enrolled, he desperately wanted to be in the same group as his big brother Angel. His first week was a tremendous struggle, as he was not talking to anyone, would have episodes of shyness, and cover his face for lengthy periods. David soon learned that he could easily interact with members through our game boards. He found a huge interest in strategizing in multiple board games in order to play with different members during social interaction in the Games Room. David has developed new skills that now allow him to interact with all members in many areas of the program. He has become more independent, which has allowed him to grow tremendously in the very short time he has been a club member.
