The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles (BGCMLA) is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. Committed to sustainable impact, BGCMLA consist of five sites and is the result of a partnership unifying Los Angeles’ Boys and Girls Clubs in the region’s most vulnerable neighborhoods since 1960 including Challengers, Watts/Willowbrook, Bell Gardens, and Jordan Downs. BGCMLA offers nationally-recognized programs in three core areas to ensure the achievement and empowerment of youth and their families: Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles.
About Arabian Prince
A songwriter, rapper, producer, DJ and technologist, Arabian is best known for pioneering west coast electro music and being a founding member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted rap group N.W.A. His passion for technology led to him create a 3D animation and special effects studio in the 90’s working with companies like Saban Entertainment and Fox; including 100+ video game titles for Fox interactive and Vivendi Universal. As a consultant, Arabian has advised many companies on bridging the gap between technology and the youth, while bringing new product innovations to market. He is currently working with his tech partners to bring Open Labs to communities across the country in support of youth, women, diversity, veterans and anyone else who wants to explore the future of technology. Arabian has had a close relationship with the innovators behind Futurelink and inspired this opportunity to help the community.
About Futurelink
Futurelink is a groundbreaking, proudly woman owned and operated STEAM learning center for kids teens and adults. Futurelink was founded on the belief that STEAM literacy is the key for success in our modern workforce and the future of our society. Futurelnk focuses on providing innovative, hands-on and interactive learning experiences. Through courses, enrichment classes, homework help, and tutoring, students learn beginning, intermediate, and advanced STEAM concepts by participating in experiments and activities. Futurelink has pioneered remote learning over the past 3 years and brings unique approaches to take the distance out of distance learning. Through our partnership with UC Davis and iFusion Foundation, Futurelink recently launched “Snap the Gap” a course for young students to learn the basics of electronics. We offer affordable and engaging classes, courses, tutoring, test prep, fitness training with STEAM education, and more to children, teens and adults.
